" . . . He is called the God of the whole earth."
I can think of at least two senses in which this phrase (above) would bless the church today. One: there is no place where God is not (in His omnipresence); and two: no matter how "separated" from God the believer may *seem* to be, or *feel* like he or she is, the Lord is still there (with him or her). There is a third sense, too: that *all* the earth *belongs* to God; and the church's mission is to saturate it with the gospel of grace.
The Lord of regenerated Christians is the *only* God that exists. All other "gods" are fake. Let us never be shy about this truth; and let the church always believe it, teach it, and proclaim it.
[Puritan quote of the day: "You say your sin is great, but is it infinite? Is not God alone infinite? Is your sin as big as God, as big as Christ? Is Jesus Christ only a Mediator for small sins?" --William Bridge, in "A Lifting Up for the Downcast"]
