Today's encouragement comes from Psalm 149:6, where we read these words:
"Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand . . . "Note how the faithful Christian churchman is at once a worshipper of God, and a soldier fighting under Christ's banner. There is no way to please God without praising Him; and there is nothing to praise Him for, unless we, His saints, see God's enemies fall under us. (These vanquished foes include sin, the flesh, the world, the devil, and Satan's agents—human and demonic.)
So, if we are in Christ as His church, then we go into our daily lives lifting up thanks and praise to God; and (in prayer) we wield the sword of the Spirit against all Christ’s enemies—until they are all utterly destroyed.
