Mon., 8/29/22 Devotion (Ps. 37:1)

Today's encouragement comes from Psalm 37:1, where we read these words:

“Fret not yourself because of evildoers; do not be envious of wrongdoers!” (ESV)

If any of us need a complete (and liberating) “re-setting” of our minds, as we live in a perversely corrupted fallen world—then I would strongly recommend a slow, prayerful reading of David’s great Psalm 37.

. . . As we ingest these words, and they form the continual nourishment of Christ in our souls—our perspectives get wondrously clarified, our fears total-ly vanish, our hope in Jesus flourishes; and our anticipation of the true church’s sure and steady advance and triumph is confirmed. Bless God for texts such as these!
