Today's encouragement comes from John 12:10 & 11, where we read these words:
“So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.” (ESV)So here is a brilliant plan: let’s kill our perfect and sinless Messiah; and, while we are at it, let’s also murder the innocent man He (Jesus) raised from the dead. . . . If we are ever tempted to diminish the insane wickedness of Christ-less religion—texts like this one bring us back to our sober assessments.
Are *you* raised from the dead, in your regenerated new life in Christ? If so, there are plenty of works-mongers anxious to snuff you out, as well. Still, be not afraid—your Messiah is stronger than Satan and his horde.
