Today's encouragement comes from Matthew 21:41, where we read these words:
“They [the chief priests and elders] said to him [Jesus], ‘He [God] will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.' ” (ESV)Here, the chief priests and elders condemn themselves; and affirm that the Kingdom of God will be given to elect Gentiles (and Jews) who believe in Jesus Christ, and love God through Him.
Their own prophecy came true when Jerusalem was leveled by the Romans in 70 AD. All the faithful (elect/redeemed) church receives the Kingdom of Christ, and we “give” God the “fruits” of our faith-filled and joyful praise.
